Hello @mags-siddle and a warm welcome. I'm sorry, but your phone must support iOS 11 to use the Fitbit app.

I have used a Fitbit app on 2 generation 4 iPads since 2013. Both iPads have the latest possible operating systems available for them iOS 10.3.3 Suddenly it is not possible to use any of our 5 different Fitbit’s together with these IPad’s
My son is now very upset that he can not update his Charge 2 on his iPad any longer.
Why have this changed, since January or February I think.
Trying to download the Fitbit app now says that iOS 11 or later is needed. How can I continue to use Fitbit on my children’s iPads.
It have always been a bit of a hassle that you need an iPad for each Fitbit device. It would be so much easier to be able to update and use all the families Fitbit’ from my new IPad Pro.

Hello @snowrabbitt and a warm welcome. One device (your iPad Pro) can be used by a number of users. The key is that each user must log out of the app before another user can log in.
I know you feel like this happened all of a sudden, but I believe iOS 11 has been required since the summer of 2019.
Situations like this happen all the time because technology advances. My personal story happened when my daughter bought me a $30 trackpad for my Mac for my birthday. I needed to upgrade my Mac OS to be able to use the trackpad. OK. BUT, HP didn't make a printer driver for that Mac OS, so my printer became useless. End result? Had to buy a new printer.
iPads are great devices. They work well and last a long time. Sadly, even Apple considers a 4th gen iPad obsolete.
