How far will FitBit2 work away from sync source (cellphone)?

I synced my Fit Bit 2 to my Samsung Galaxy 5 last night.  Do I always need to have my cell phone close for the Fit Bit 2 to still be able to track my distance, heart rate and miles walked/run?  Or can I be severeral miles away and it will still work?

@Buellir  The tracker will work away from your phone - it stores the data on the tracker until you sync.  Can hold up to 7 days of information.  Now keep in mind, you will not be able to use GPS features or get notifications from your phone.

 

But yes, it will still track your steps, heart rate, distance without your phone.
