I want to shut off auto recognition of exersize funtion. I want to track my walking but it is deciding that I’m usuing an outdoor bike. Wrong. I am using an iOS device and cant find a way to shut this function off.

"Please note that if your tracker recognize an activity but it's not the correct one, you can always edit your exercise in the Fitbit app by tapping on the Exercise Tile > The Exercise you want to edit > Ellipsis icon (...) on the top right corner > Edit Exercise Details. "
Just wanted to point out that its nearly 2 years later and we still cannot edit exercises in the android app!
Thank you! I never would have found that setting myself. Just turned it off and hoping my next speedy walk isn't tracked as a run.
Best AnswerTotally - a super irritating feature when you go for a jog .. i continuously think I am getting messages .
As others said that even after ignoring all of them it is still getting activated.
I am going to try and update it to 90 minutes and see if this bug is resolved as I hardly exercise more than 1 hour
Best AnswerMy auto-recognize continually comes on despite turning off all the exercises auto-recognize options. I tried a factory reset with no luck. It still turns on.
I returned the watch for a new one, hoping against all odds it would be the solution, but the 2nd watch does the same thing. I'm going to try a third watch which is ridiculous. I had an ionic for a few years with no issues like this but the ionic was discontinued so was forced to go with the Versa 3. I regret the decision. If this is a firmware issue, it should be resolved asap. My battery is dying daily from the watch running in exercise mode for hours. I've even seen it do it at home when it's charging sometimes.
@hawk20011 Your post caught my eye, because you added on to a fairly old thread. Can you please clarify your issue? I am asking because the auto-recognition feature (SmartTrack) doesn't show anything on the device itself when it is in use. All of the information appears on the app after you are done. If your device is running in the Exercise mode, it isn't SmartTrack.
I have two thoughts. First, the Run option in the Exercise Shortcuts has an Auto Detect feature. When you choose the Run shortcut, swipe up. There is a tiny "^" at the bottom of the screen. Swipe until you get to Run Detect and toggle it to off. The default setting is on. Second, several users "started" exercises without know it. The touch screen seems to be very sensitive. You might try moving your Exercise App icon to a different page. A light press and hold should make the icon appear larger. You can drag it to another page. Not ideal, but it might help.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of the "swipe up" settings on the watch itself. I think also having the exercise shortcut set to long-press on the side of the watch might not help. Will change both things and hope that helps!
Thanks
Update... It did work! It went a whole day with starting up. That's what I get for not reading the manual.
This is the needed answer!
Thanks MB, just did what you said, see if it works, hoping so.
Geez, I’d jump in the shower and start washing and an activity would start, see what happens tomorrow.
And my watch is four days old😩😩
