How to edit step count on iOS app?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit one restarted itself yesterday at like 11:30pm, resulting in a step total yeaterday of 122 steps. Thus I “lost” about 6,500 steps that I track in the Fitbit iOS app (which then syncs to a weight loss app I use). I can’t seem to manually figure out how to edit the step total in the Fitbit iOS app. I can’t add “steps” as exercise either. I don’t know how to add walking as exercise because I don’t know how far 6,500 steps is. Help!

You can look at previous days to see how your steps correlate to distance, and then under Log Exercise add "Walk" for the appropriate distance. That is, if on a previous day you took 6,500 steps, look to see what the corresponding distance was, and then enter that as a walk.

Hello @Wienderful it's nice to see you around, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's nice to see you around too @SunsetRunner, I appreciate your help with this situation. Smiley Happy

@Wienderful, thanks for bringing this to my attention, have you experienced this issue before? Have you restarted your Fitbit One? To restart your Fitbit One:

  1. Plug your charging cable into your computer.
  2. Plug your Fitbit One tracker into the charging cable, making sure that the gold contacts on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger.
  3. Hold down your tracker's button for 10-12 seconds.
  4. Remove your tracker from the charging cable and press its button until the screen turns on.

If you have already tried that, my best recommendation would be following @SunsetRunner's suggestion to log a "walk" exercise through the Fitbit app. Note that if the amount of steps is higher than you need, you can always edit the exercise by tapping on the ellipsis (...) icon located on the top right corner of the screen. Edit the distance and time to adjust the steps.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you please feel free to reply.
