Hi @Biker86  there really isn't a way to make your steps completely private, especially if you're doing any challenges with those friends. Friends shouldn't worry how many steps you're taking, but they ought to be more concerned with their own steps. Have you checked your profile to see how friends or anyone can see you?

Hi there @Biker86, welcome to the Community Forums,

Please note what @Odyssey13 has already mentioned to you. There's no way to make your steps private.

Thank you for your suggestion, though. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the Feature Suggestion board on our community. Please take a moment to visit and give us your feedback.

If you find that a similar suggestion has already been made by another member of the community, you can vote for their idea and add your comments. We look forward to reading your suggestions.

I've moved your post to the iOS App board for organization purposes.

Thank you so much for your feedback and for participating in our community!

Why hasn’t this been made

private yet? People have been asking for YEARS for this privacy feature.

It's a bit hard @SunsetRunner to be in a challenge with friends and not have them know the number of steps you take. Even if you're not a friend, others in the challenge see your steps. You can always make things completely private, have zero friends and never do a group challenge - so in that case, it's completely private.

I’m not doing any challenges. And I’ve tried to make my profile as private as possible but would like to be in community groups. I don’t understand why hiding steps isn’t an option.

@SunsetRunner  I can't speak for the company, but since Fitbit is all about the steps and so many people want to share their numbers, it seems that making things private would defeat that purpose.
