How to track exercise

I used the treadmill this morning while wearing my Fitbit, and it counted steps as I was going. After finishing, I logged that I did the treadmill and it added 3,000 steps out of nowhere. Is there a way to say that I did the treadmill and have it count my steps in real time?

Hi @Coffeegirl14 and welcome!

Manually logging your workout shouldn't influence your steps at all. Manually logging your workout is recommended when: you forget to wear your tracker, if you don't have a heart rate tracker and are doing a workout where step count isn't representative of caloric burn (ie yoga, cycling etc), or forget to track your exercise.

Click here for more information on manually logging exercises. Hope this helps you out!
