Hello @Wendsong, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Which tracker are you currently using? Depending on the tracker you can use connected GPS (Charge 2, Blaze) or native GPS (Surge). Additionally, if you haven't already done so, please check the following three GPS-related settings on your iOS device:

1. Make sure your device can track your activity when you're out of wi-fi range. To do so, tap Settings > Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is on.
2. Make sure the app can track GPS when your device is locked. To do so, tap Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it's on for both the phone and Fitbit specifically.
3. Make sure your device is able to identify your location. To do so, tap Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure it's on for both the phone and Fitbit specifically.

Now, in order to track a GPS exercise, simply go through the screens in your tracker until you locate Exercise, an icon will indicate if the exercise can be used with GPS, usually Walk, Run or Hike. Once selected, your tracker will try to connect to the GPS on your phone and once it does, the exercise will start. In case of the Surge, once the GPS on the tracker connects, you will be able to start your exercise.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for your response. While I was  frustrated with the answer I found to my first search, I did go on to find the instructions for using GPS with my  tracker.   I used it successfully this morning in my walk around the park. I do so love my Fitbit!
