I can’t open the app on my iPhone. I’ve powered phone off and on a few times. I’ve switched the Bluetooth off and on a few times. It is opening for a second and going off immediately. Should I delete and reinstall the app?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the steps that you've tried on your own. It's odd that the Fitbit app isn't opening on your phone and to further investigate, may I know your phone's model and OS version? Have you also updated the Fitbit app?
In the meantime, I'd recommend to force stop any app that is open in the background on your iPhone as described here. Then, reboot your iPhone and try opening the Fitbit app one more time. Make sure to be connected to a stable WiFi connection or mobile data.
