Water resistant to 50M for wear in the pool or rain. Tracks laps, duration and calories burned during swim workouts.
The best way to request a new feature (such as tracking a swim in open salt water), is to post in the New Feature Suggestion forum where others may vote for the idea. This is where fitbit gauges the interest in a new feature. You can also suggest specific ways to improve the adventures.

@alfredogomez The ionic, and versa are water redid tent down to 50 meters. As @SunsetRunner mentions. The Flex 2 iIdont think is rated that deep.
As for the Garmin no it is not water proof. but waterresistant to some depth. Go deeper it might fail .That is why, since the 1060's, no product can legaly be called waterproof..
