In app notifications no longer showing up

Notifications for meeting or exceeding daily step goal stopped after June 16.  I've tried a restart, removing device, resetting Bluetooth, logging out of Fitbit, restarting iPhone and nothing seems to be working.  Any suggestions welcome.

Hi, @venango3628, have you checked to make sure that your goal has not accidentally changed?  I would suggest going to your app and checking your goal.  Also, you can have different goals in different areas.  Make sure you have correctly selected your main goal.

If everything seems to be correct, you could try resetting to a very low goal, then be sure to sync your Alta HR, then watch carefully to see when you meet your goal if you are getting any notification.  After that set it back to your preferred goal, and sync.

If you still aren't getting notifications, then it would be a good idea to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com .

My Alta HR stopped syncing after June 16th... I had it working just fine on my Blackberry Key One, Lenovo tablet, and Win 10 laptop.. now nothing...  useless..  Help desk will only tell me they're working on adding the BlackBerry to the list of devices... ODD as it was working just fine till June 16th.  I bought my Alta HR in December.

I have not had notifications since June 15th which I believe happened after the IOS 11.4 update.  The troubleshooting steps were all completed and nothing is working to restore the notifications.

I checked the post and it made no sense! I have all the correct settings and have done all the troubleshooting steps. This is a iOS 11.4 issue. As for stopping notifications as a customer request, that makes even less sense. I want this issue to be an open case and NOT marked solved as it is not.

Thanks for getting back @FitinNJ! 🙂

I totally understand where you're coming from. Now, if you've already checked the settings and this is still not working for you, if you were able to read a little further, there are also some known issues with notifications not being received even if you've enabled the desired options and our team is working to get this resolved for everyone.

Also, nobody has marked this thread as solved, so don't worry about that. The thread I referenced is marked as solved as that is the way to get notifications working and as I mentioned before, if you're still not seeing them, hopefully, soon you will.

If you have more questions, let me know!

They solved my issue by sending me a replacement AltaHR, as mine was no
longer syncing with anything. Not even my Windows 10 laptop. I understood
that they are taking longer than anticipated, with syncing to Blackberry
phones. (Android based). And it also wouldn't sync with my Lenovo tablet.
I received my FREE replacement in 3 days over the Canada Day weekend.

I think it’s a software problem. My app will display a little red dot telling me I’ve got a notification but when I go to my list it says the last notification received was June of last year. A couple other people have mentioned that this happened to them at the exact same time. I wear an Alta.

Going through this tread and reading others. Mine and my daughters app quit sending notifications in June also. I have all the settings and push notifications turned on.

My daughter really like having the notification saying you were almost there for your daily steps.

Will this issue be fixed?

Thank you

Hello @Cait_SG and @IrisRose13, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for letting us know about this issue. We’re aware of it, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. We understand that this isn't the resolution you're hoping for, but rest assured we're always working to improve our products.

When it comes to in-app Notificaitons, step-based goal Notifications, were removed on June 2018 as it was heavily requested by many people. These notifications only arrive to your phone as push Notifications now.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I still don't understand why the sync isn't working at all. Not on my
phone, tablet or laptop. This Fitbit has become a useless piece of metal.

I was on the phone with your tech support for over 3 hours.. Finally they sent me a new Fitbit, but it won't work either.. All I get is the opening website on the Alta HR device. it won't allow me to set up or sync.  I'm done.. I had 2 Alta HRs over 3 yrs, and now a 3rd isn't able to even set up. I'm looking at other devices. FITBIT is useless.

Hello @Cbare52, thanks for coming back, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have taken the time to reply and let us know our Support Team sent you a replacement Alta HR. Tell me, are you getting and error message when trying to set up the replacement? Have you gone to the Bluetooth Settings on your phone and removed the previous Alta HR listed on the connected devices? This might be the reason your replacement is not getting set up correctly.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Yes.. I followed ALL the instructions plus all the instructions from your
techie by phone. I was told that there is a glitch in your system at this
time, and MAYBE it will be fixed, and I should keep trying to delete and
install the app on my phone, each month and see if its'been fixed on your
end.
