My Fitbit app notifications will not upload. The last notification I have is from August 2017. I try to refresh it but it just stays on the notifications from August. Not sure what I need to do to fix it.

Hello @SueH8910, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you. It's nice to see you too @M-Bates, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have taken the time to provide me the information requested. @M-Bates, it seems the screenshot you sent didn't come through. Could you please reply to me with it following these steps to upload it again? That will be very helpful.

@SueH8910I appreciate your participation in the forums. Please note that as mentioned above, based on customer feedback, the Fitbit app has stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center, which is why you have not received them in the Notifications tab. You will only be able to see "step goal" notifications as push notifications on your phone.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hello @areeve1218, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I understand your concern about the in-app notifications you're not receiving receiving. At this moment I would like to suggest you to go to the Notification Settings on the online Dashboard and make sure the boxes under Mobile are checked. If they are, un-check them, save the changes and check them back.

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Please note that based on customer feedback, the Fitbit app has stopped showing notifications in the Notification Center. You can continue to receive these notifications as push notifications by turning on Push Notifications in the app under Account > Notifications. Additionally, go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and ensure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Since they have stopped showing the notifications with the red alert and category be removed?  The OCD side of me can't stand seeing the red alert as it makes me feel like I haven't done something.  Thanks.  🙂

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I understand you won't like to see the red dot in the Notification Center in the Fitbit app. Please note that this dot will also appear if you receive an in-app message from one of your Fitbit friends, however, you can disable Notifications from the app to stop receiving them as push Notifications, removing the red dot from the Community tab.

To disable in-app Notifications please go to Account > Notifications and disable Step Goal Milestones as well as other options of your choice.

I have turned off all notifications (in app and on my phone for fitbit); closed the program restarted my phone; re-synced my fitbit; and the notification dot is still there.  😞

I'm having the same problem - I have no new notifications in my app since 19th June. I followed all the steps (i.e. ticking & unticking boxes etc).  The notifications flash up on my iphone, but then they don't appear in the app.

Hi, I’m having the same problem, my last notification was on 18th June 2018. I’ve updated my iOS software and my Fitbit app but that hasn’t worked, and now all my notifications have disappeared bar a couple from 25 March 2018. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Maybe this section should be removed from the app in an update? It's a little strange having a list of out-of-date notifications.

That’s crazy because my notifications stopped on June 28th also and I’ve done everything theyve said to do. I’m just going to leave it alone.

I appreciate you have shared your experience with me, please note that in-app Notifications are no longer showing in the Fitbit app, you can only get push Notifications to show your step progress during the day. If you're not able to receive these, please try the following:

  1. Go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Notifications and make sure "Step Goal Milestones" is enabled.
  2. Enable All-day Sync in the Fitbit app to your phone can sync in the background, which will update your step count during the day. Go to Account > Your device to find All-day Sync and enable it.
  3. Go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:
    • Show on Lock Screen
    • Show in History

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for giving me things to try but I’ve done all that and even double checked. I also went as far as to delete the app and reinstall which also did not work. I know about the notifications and I just wanted the steps to remind how far I am during the day but again it stopped working on June 28th. It’s really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things so no worries but thanks again for the suggestions.

I appreciate you have already tried the troubleshooting steps I've provided earlier. If you have enabled All-day Sync already, I would like to ask you to force-quit the app, then open it again and manually sync your Fitbit device. Then, make sure the Fitbit app is running on the background before locking your phone. This way, your device will sync with the Fitbit app even when your phone is locked, having it synced more often will provide the app the information necessary to send the push Notification as it's been constantly updating the data synced.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, give these steps a try and let me know the outcome.

I am having the same issue. No new notifications since June 15th. However red dot is always there. I have tried the troubleshooting that was suggested in previous posts, but no change.

Yes that red dot! I think that drives me more crazy then not seeing my steps. Technology!

I appreciate you have let me know you're still experiencing issues with the red dot showing up under the Notifications tab. At this moment I would like to gather some information from you so I can check this further:

  • iPhone model you're currently using.
  • OS version running in your phone.
  • Fitbit app version installed on your phone.
  • A screenshot of what you're able to see when tapping on the Notifications tab.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.
