This is my exact problem as well. I have a new 7, but it seemed out. So I used my old 6 and have them both going at the same time. The 7 was quite a bit more distance, and all jagged edges (as pictured), whereas the 6 was a perfectly smooth loop, with the right distance. Did you ever get a resolution?

lol literally exact same here. I switched to Blaze and then iPhone 7 shortly after. Same thing. Distance is way more compared to my iPhone 6. Any luck?

something that doesn't do what it's supposed to. I feel like it's
definitely on Apple's end. Thanks for your input!

It seems like the problem is with the iPhone 7 or iOS and Fitbit, I tried to do what you guys mentioned here and my app keeps working wrong. Yesterday I ran 6 miles and the Fitbit app said 7.04. I think we need an update.

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day.
I appreciate you have brought this to my attention, I have forwarded the information to our team so they can take a better look at this situation. It seems the issue is only affecting users who have an iPhone 7 and iOS 10. If you have a different phone model and OS version, please reply to me with that information to add it as well.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, once I have more information to share with you, I'll make sure to update the thread. Additionally, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

there is a problem with huge inaccuracy on the app on I Phone 7, IOS 10.
This has taken several months, since first reporting in February 2017. My
husband has recently given up and purchased an Apple Watch, only because
there was no point continuing with the Blaze that was inaccurate. I really
hope that the problem can be resolved for all other users, some of whom may
not realise that their distance is not being tracked accurately.

I've had this problem for almost a year now since buying the iPhone 7 back in September. I'm happy it's getting fixed and somebody is looking into it. I just hope it's not going to start all over with the new iOS and new iPhone coming out.
Can't wait to see a fix. Thank you! 🙂

Hello. I have been reading through this whole thread and just wanted to add in that I am having the same problem with an iphone7. My usual route on my old iphone 5 was 4.98 km and yesterday was 6.16. If you look at the detail of the map the line is all zigzag and not straight. I hope that FitBit can come up with a solution soon.

My wife has iPhone 7 and iOS10. I have iPhone 6 with iOS 10. Latest version of App and iOS. We just went for a walk in a local park with a proven path. She uses a Zip and I have a Blaze. We both tracked the walk with the App.
Her phone measured 2.6 miles. Very erratic path when you zoom in. Many loops and zig zags. My phone measures 2.1 miles and had a smooth path. Very representative of actual activity.
Not it sure of issue is iPhone 7 only or in relation to the App. Will try to replicate with Nike app to see how it tracks. We used the Apple Maps GPS to track our route back he me and both phones had same distance.
There is some issue somewhere.

I now use an Apple Watch with Bluetooth off to track distance. (If on watch will default to phone Gps)
Good luck.

Hello, I had this problem since changing from iPhone 6 to 7 (both ios10) and after 4 changes of the iPhone made by apple, the problem was never fixed; however this morning I updated to iOS 11 and « voilà » the line is much less jagging when I am running and the distance is better computed, not as good as iPhone 6 but much better than iPhone 7 with iOS 10. So it seems that a crappy gps chip can be tuned by a new software... it was about time!

2nd run confirm my first run: iOS 11 must enable some kind of smothering of the gps track resulting in a better calculation of the distance. However my guess is that the gps chip is still giving bad measurements but now at least while running it is less problematic. I will first check this bad issue before buying any new iPhone model 8 or X as it was such a disappointment when I bought the 7 which was far below the 6 performance... incredible for a piece of tech costing more than 800€. I think it is why apple did change my gear at least 4 times without any argument... trying to cover it up?

I did not checked my battery but I did not notice it being exhausted this morning so it might be another problem you're having on the iPhone. I remember having this kind of battery problem in the past after an upgrade and it was due to the email account being corrupted; the account constantly trying to sync with Exchange... a simple email account deletion and recreation did the job at that time... hope it helps.
Happy to finally having my running statistics back on track with my real performance... event though I was now used to be a fantastic athlete... I even though running for Paris 2024 🙂
Now I am back to the real world again and need to practice better!
