Incorrect amount of steps after sync

I had 7000+ steps for the day, that showed correctly on my wristband. But after syncing in the iOS app, both the wristband and app changed. It might have gone down to 0, but once I noticed it, it said 1200 steps. Time settings are correct. What’s wrong? Can I enter today’s correct amount of steps manually? Thanks
