I absolutely hate this. The only reason why I haven’t bought an Apple Watch is because I track my sleep with my Fitbit. And here I am today, complaining about the feature I used to love.
I’ve been tracking my sleep everyday for years and soon after Google bought Fitbit I started to notice a lot of changes, quirks, and bugs, including this one. It’s been going on for almost a year, so I patiently waited for someone to fix it. The sleep days you see here ridiculously high is when I sleep through the night for about 6-7 hours, then take a nap for about an hour. This results in the app adding the previous sleep on top of the nap making it double the amount. It’s messing up everything, my dailies, my monthly and yearly averages.
This week I napped twice and for some reason one of them was logged correctly, while the other one couldn’t even get my sleep stages correctly and also double logged the day. I used to be able to edit these out because the double logging would be literally there, but now I can’t edit them shorter. They just log in the back invisible to the UI other than for the graph.
I don’t know what to do, I have years of logged data in Fitbit. Of course I don’t want to change devices, but this is the last straw for me. I hope this can be fixed soon.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SunsetRunner.
Thanks for the details and screenshots shared in your post. I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I appreciate your efforts and recommend trying the following:
- Please confirm that your sleep settings are normal and not sensitive: What is the difference between the normal and sensitive sleep setting in the Fitbit app?
- Restart your device by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Try sleeping with the watch on your non-dominant hand if you haven't been doing it already.
- Confirm that the watch is snug on your wrist.
-
Log out of the app.
- Force quit the app.
-
Restart your phone.
-
Log into the Fitbit app and check if the issue persists.
You can check the steps to edit a sleep log in How do I edit, or delete sleep logs in the Fitbit app? For more information about tracking sleep, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
Hope this helps.

@LiliyaFitbit I’ve done many of these steps already, with no real effect on this issue. And yes my Fitbit is set to normal sleep sensitivity. Like I mentioned in my post, I used to be able to edit these out, but something changed for the worse where you cannot edit them anymore. They linger in the background without any way to modify the amount of hours that uses to generate the graph, because when you edit the individual sleep amounts they are correct.

Thank you for your reply, @SunsetRunner.
I appreciate your efforts and the additional details. In order to confirm the issue, could you please log in fitbit.com on a browser (not on Fitbit app) and check if you can see your sleep information correctly and edit your sleep logs.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

@LiliyaFitbit Here's a screenshot of my dashboard. The numbers are correct on the table, but not on the graph as you can see from the date I marked and the many other instances that happened just these past 30 days (I hardly ever even sleep 8 hours!).

Update 3.42 on iOS seems to have mysteriously fixed the issue. 👀 Thanks.
