Ionic not receiving notifications or calls

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got the new Ionic and everything was working fine. Before it would allow me to download my music it needed to update my watch. After the update I can no longer receive text messages or see incoming calls. I've followed all the instructions on line including hard reset and making sure all of my Iphone 6plus settings were set right. Any idea's? Is this a known bug and is there a team working on it?

Hello @SeanH911, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit app, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If your Ionic is not receiving Notifications, please make sure Notifications are ON in the tracker itself, swipe right while on the clock face and under Notifications make sure "Receive from phone" is selected.

In case this is already selected and you're still unable to receive notifications, let's restart them by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open the Fitbit app and go to Account > Ionic > Notifications and enable them once again.
  4. When you're asked to pair your tracker, tap OK and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. If you have already restarted Notifications in the Fitbit app by following the instructions provided above, please try the following:

  1. Go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Ionic > Notifications.
  2. Disable Calls
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Restart your Ionic by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  5. Go back to the Fitbit app > Account > Ionic  > Notifications
  6. Enable Calls again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome.

Hi

I have tried both of these methods but still not receiving calls or other notifications. The device will sync on the app and is connecting to my phone Bluetooth.

Please help.

Hello @greenietom, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Tel me, which device are you currently using? Have you restarted it already? If so, I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

BTPairing2.jpg- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that the following is enabled:

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
