Ionic not syncing with app.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The app is not working on my iPhone. I just got an ionic. The watch seems to be working perfectly. The app will not load any data from my ionic. I have synced it a number of times and nothing. It won’t show steps, the exercise I did today, calories, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do?

Let's open the app, tap on the picture of thet Ionic, on the next page. By the Ionic it will tell you how long ago your tracker last synced. How long aha was it.

Does the phone show that is it connected to the Ionic? Go to settings=>Bluetooth=>and check to see if the Ionic is there. If not, the sync is not “taking”.  Restart your Ionic, restart the app, restart the phone and see if that helps.

If if it is listed there, is it currently connected?  If so, check the app.  Is it showing as connected I the app (battery level showing in the top left corner)?  And as the other person said, if it is connected, when was the last time is synced (watch in the top right corner, under the device name it says Synced today, time).  You can also try a forced sync at the bottom of that screen with the Sync Now button.

Hello @SunsetRunner, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Thanks for all your help @ladyascension and @Rich_Laue, I really appreciate it. Smiley Happy

@SunsetRunner, I appreciate you have taken the time to try some troubleshooting steps before posting your findings in the Forums. Are you using an Ionic too? Have you restarted by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen? If so, I would like to suggest you the following in case your Ionic is not syncing correctly:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
