Little ‘bug’ icon added to RHR spike during illness

I’m currently fighting off a cold, and as expected when I’m decently unwell, my heart rate has spiked way above usual along with a drop in heart rate variability. I’ve been using Fitbit/Charge 3 for about three years (?) and am enjoying the little ‘bug’ icon Fitbit has added to today’s heart rate data point. It’s so tiny it’s hard to see, but it looks like a little beetle icon. If I knew how to add photos, I would!

Has anyone else seen this? Is this something Fitbit has added since Covid? Is this a premium feature that I have skimmed over? I’m so curious!

Hello @SunsetRunner and welcome to the Help forum.  That is a display bug in the iOS app, but not a beetle.  A moderator acknowledged this, so Fitbit is aware.  I enlarged a few screenshots.  I have a low resting heart rate.  When it is in the 40's, I can see a 4 mixed in with other unrecognizable stuff.  When my RHR is 50-51, I can see a 5.

I hope this satisfies your curiosity.

Oh wow, thank you for that! I was not expecting it to be a digital bug rather than a graphical representation of an actual insect 😂 it seemed so fitting with me being sick, I thought perhaps that little icon was trying to signify that my spiked heart-rate was due to a ‘bug’/illness. Which, come to think of it, would be a pretty neat thing to be able to record alongside major changes in our physiological readings.

I zoomed in on a screenshot of mine and it’s a 6 with an X and a blue teardrop-shape next to it. My poor feverish brain can be forgiven for thinking it looked like an insect 😂

Thanks again!
