Live data not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

With my charge 2, I could run the treadmill or outside, and get a running constant of steps on the phone screen and the steps of the run itself on the charge. That is, the sync to phone for steps (not other things) was constant. I got a Charge 3 for the water-proofness, and it won't do this. I don't love it. Is this typical? Can I fix this? (I'm not loving the upgrade, frankly; the new screen interface is not as streamlined as the Charge 2, and I might just go back to the old one if this sync feature isn't fixable)

Hi @mcgaposchkin. It's great to see you here.

Thanks for letting me know that the live data isn't working on the Fitbit app. I'm sorry that you're having this experience and your comments will be passed along to our team so they can work on this. It seems the live data function is the one not working, so let's try the following:

  1. Go to your fitbit.com dashboard and log in.
  2. Click on the gear icon at the upper right corner > Charge 3's image.
  3. Scroll down and enable the "Live Data" to view real-time data.
  4. Open the Fitbit app on your phone, tap your profile's icon > Fitbit Charge 3 image.
  5. Turn off and on the All-Day Sync and monitor its behavior on your next workout.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Thank you for these tips. I have done everything you suggest. I didn't actually change any settings, since they were all set as you instructed, but I did turn things on and off. It said that my charge3 wasn't bluetooth connected to the phone.  We'll see if the "on/off/on" of the settings fixes it. I'll be in touch.

Hi @mcgaposchkin. It's great to see here again.

You're very welcome and thanks to you for trying the steps suggested in my post. If you continue having issues to get your Charge 3 connected to Bluetooth I'd recommend to also try the troubleshooting described in this help article as the life data function will work as long as your tracker is syncing correctly. If you notice any other behavior, feel free to let me know so I can continue helping you.

See you around.

Hi Lizzie - I can tell you what solved the problem. I had to have it "forget" my charge2, which was competing with the Charge 3 for bluetooth pairing, and now it is working seamlessly.

Thanks for the help. Happy holidays.
