I am having the same issue and have been for weeks now - constantly quit the app but it makes no difference, food items still disappear after I have entered them. Are FitBit looking into this bug?

I would recommend making sure that you have updated to iOS App version 2.21.1 was just released this morning. Click here to be redirected to the iOS App.
We are definitely aware of this issue. One short-term workaround while a long-term resolution is being worked out is logging food on Fitbit.com.
