Why does my fitbit tracker consistently lose steps when I sync to the phone app?

I do not have multiple trackers, only 1 charge 2.

I do not want to reset the **ahem** thing every day just to reach my step goal!

Is it broken? Should I be using apple watch or garmin if this brand is defective?

Hello @AnnaCollie, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Have you experienced this issue often or is this the first time that has happened? Did the tracker reset to 0 or did the steps decrease? In this case I would like to suggest you to go to the online Dashboard and check if your steps are showing correctly here; if they are, it's possible the app is not updating your steps correctly, in which case I'd recommend the following:

  • Force-close the app by double tapping the home button and swiping up the Fitbit app. If that doesn't seem to work, please:
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

@AnnaCollie do you ever manually add any events? This would explain what your experiencing.

Thanks for the message, sorry no I have never added manually nor do I want to. Still having these problems. Reached >10K step, synced and reset to about 9K. Still not impressed. Tried resetting it and all. Nothing seems to be fixing the problem

Restarting the tracker, could fix future problems from happening but it won't change any steps allready in the cloud on the fitbit server. Sorry
