Main page synced correctly, steps that count for challenges off by 4K steps! Irritating

Why does app not sync same steps for main page as it does for the steps that count for challenges?  Really irritating when you’re trying to compete.  I’m missing >4K steps and I have been wearing my FitBit all day with Bluetooth connected.  Stupid FitBit is going to mess with my statistics for my 5 mile walk too because it didn’t count 30 minutes of my walk!

Hello and welcome @Staceyp1004

I understand your seeing a discrepancy between what is is showing on the leaderboard in a challenge room and the total steps showing on the main page of your Fitbit App. I usually only see a discrepancy if I’m involved in a challenge that was started by a Fitbit Friend that is in a different timezone. Example if they are three hours ahead of you when the challenge starts your step count starts at that time. Your step count in the main page is your actual count for your timezone, thus your challenge timezone is different. Is that what could be happening?

😃 Please let me know if that answers your question.

No, I’m aware of that discrepancy and that is not the issue.  Main page shows 19,634 steps, when I click on steps page to see daily steps on one page I see same steps, but when I click on today’s steps from that page, where you see the bar chart, I only have 15,326 steps.  When I check my heart rate page, I see the same period of missing data, so my FitBit just stopped working for 30 minutes during my 1h40m walk.  Weirdly, my total correct steps are in the one challenge that started in my time zone.  I should have more steps in a challenge that started before midnight my time, not less.
