Main tile in the app changed from Steps to Calories

Why does Fitbit think they know better than the people using their devices.

This morning the Fitbit app decided to change the main goal displayed to Calories instead of Steps that has been showing for years.

I am NOT able to change back to Steps either using the app OR through the My Account Dashboard.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED THAT THE APP WILL NOT UPDATE

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Ec1959. It's nice to see you around, @Odyssey13.

@Odyssey13 Thank you for your support.

@Ec1959 I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I appreciate your efforts and the additional details and recommend trying the following:

  1. Log out of the app.
  2. Force quit the app.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Log into the Fitbit app and try to rearrange stat tiles by doing the following: On the Today tab, tap and hold on the stat tile you want to move, and drag it to a new position. Tap Done.

For more information about the Fitbit app, see How do I add, remove, or rearrange tiles on my Fitbit app dashboard?

Let me know how it goes.

I had already tried all of those options without success.

Finally managed to get the Steps display to re-appear after re-starting the phone and removing the Calories count - this then allowed me to finally replace it with the Step count.

I just don’t understand why Fitbit continually loses the settings on the app or the watch when an upgrade is applied - this is NOT good programming practice. Presets SHOULD be able to be remembered during an upgrade!
