Did you mean:

“Miles” are doubled

While the steps I take during my morning walk remain accurate the miles are all I’d a sudden recording as double! 10,000 steps now equates to 10 miles! Used to be around 4.2-3.

i uninstalled and reinstalled and my advance settings are on automatic for step tracking. Any suggestions

Hi @GrannyYiayia. It's great to see you here in the Forums.

Thanks for the information provided and for the steps tried on your own. Nice way to start! It's odd that the distance was doubled and to further investigate may I know if your morning walk was logged in your Fitbit account? If so, did you log using the exercise app? Or did you use MobileRun? Also, please let me know the model of your Fitbit.

In the meantime, while you've tried troubleshooting this situation please give a try to the following:

  1. Measure your stride length manually and update it in the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Restart your Fitbit.
  4. Try recording your data one more time and make sure to use the exercise app.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Hi @GrannyYiayia. Welcome back! I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for getting back and trying to restart everything. Just to confirm, do you mean that the distance is still being doubled after tracking your exercise? If so, I'll need you to provide me with the following:

I'll be looking forward to your response.

Hi @vtohio. It's great to see you in the forums.

Thanks for joining this thread and trying the suggested steps posted above. I'm sorry that you're experiencing the same issue with your Samsung Galaxy phone and let me give you a hand. Before anything else, have you made sure to have the Fitbit app updated on both phones? Also, by any chance do you have MobileTrack connected to your account? MobileTrack is a feature to record basic stats such as steps by using your phone's sensors. If this is linked to your account, it might be that when opening the app this data is the first one to sync before being override by the information tracked with your Charge 2.

That being said, I'd recommend to turn off the Bluetooth in your iPhone or any other device. Then try the following steps using your Samsung Galaxy phone:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and if you see MobileTrack under Device, remove it as described here.
  2. On your phone's settings, tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  3. Go back one screen and tap on Force Stop.
  4. Reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and sync your Charge 2.
  6. Track another exercise in the next days to see how it goes.

I'll look forward to your response.
