Mobile Run - Poor GPS Alert

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just before I begin a walk, I go to the FitBit app on my iOS phone, hit + and start MobileRun. Every single time, I get the message "Poor GPS Alert. Continuing with tracking could result in irregular GPS data for this activity." I start it anyway and stop when I'm done. I get a map but the mileage seems inflated. Troubleshooting I've tried : restarted phone. Turned location services on and off. Restarted Fitbit. I've had this message since I started using the FitBit. Is my FitBit defective? I've called customer service twice and can't help me.

Hello @Wfhound, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I appreciate you have let me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. In case you haven't done it yet, please update the Fitbit app.

If the app has been already updated, please log out from it, restart your phone one more time and log back in. Then check if you're still getting the same message. Please note that when using MobileRun you're using your phone and your tracker doesn't have any influence on MobileRun.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

@Wfhound, GPS Diagnostic is a good app for checking out your iPhone's GPS functionality.

I make sure I have satellite contact with it before launching MobileRun.  Also have my wifi disabled, the subsequent map track is much smoother then.

I appreciate your insight about this situation and the tools you've kindly provided. Also, turning off WiFi is a great tip for increasing the accuracy of the map.
