Did you mean:

MobileTrack duplicated my steps.

After I added MobileTrack, some of my daily steps were double counted.  Is there any way to edit the steps, or remove steps synched from MobileTrack?  Now I have some ridiculous badge I didn’t really earn.

Hello @hotnwell, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that MobileTrack should not duplicate your steps, when you sync your device, the steps tracked by it will replace the ones taken by MobileTrack. Do you have any third-party apps linked to your account? If so, please make sure to force-quit it before syncing your device.

Now, in order to remove the extra steps, please follow these steps:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile. This is the tile that says “Track exercise" or shows how many days you've exercised this week.
  2. Tap the stopwatch icon.
  3. Tap Log or Log Previous.
  4. Enter Driving as the exercise type and enter the date, start time, and duration.
  5. Tap Add or Log it. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.
  6. After that, when you see the Driving activity inside the Exercise tile, swipe left to delete it.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response. I have no third party apps linked to my
Fitbit account. I should add the detail that I had mobile track previously
assigned to a older phone that I don't use (so no steps logged by it in
months). I removed MobileTrack, then added it back with a connection to
the phone I am currently using. So the steps that have been double counted
occurred from a date prior to when I linked MobileTrack to the phone. I
don't know if that makes any difference.

In terms of adding "Driving" as an exercise-- how do I know what start
time/duration to enter? I would like to subtract a specific number of
steps, and I'm not clear how to correlate the start time and duration to
the number. My steps shown are 66k. Real steps about 40k. What's listed
as exercise does not account for a decent portion of the steps.

Thanks
