MobileTrack - ongoing sync issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Been using mobile track on iPhone 5s for several years. The app will not sync previous days steps, has been an issue for several app versions. Just upgraded to 2.31 and issue is still occurring. Validated motion tracker is working as the steps show up in Apple health. Really too bad, I don't want to wear a bracelet. Anything working to fix this?

@emonomics Are you able to force sync MobileTrack? This can be done by tapping the account button > tap MobileTrack > and then tap "Sync Now".

It also might be worth double checking to see if you've given the Fitbit App permission to track motion and Fitness in your iOS settings.

Hope this helps.

Hi Derrick,

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, fitbit has access to motion and fitness. Hence the app syncing for the current day, but not prior days when I didn't open the app.

Yes, force synced many times trying to get it to update.

@emonomics Out of curiosity, what iOS software version is your iPhone 5s running?

Also, does rebooting your iPhone help? How about force quitting and reopening the Fitbit app?

iOS 10.2 - I keep up to date... maybe that's my issue? 😉

No, I have rebooted many times since this started, and I always keep my apps closed out. It's probably been happening for a couple months now, maybe even since iOS 10 came out?

Honestly I stopped using Fitbit due to this annoyance, but getting back into New Year's goals and it's just unfortunate because I have used this for a long time (2 or 3 years I think).

Dozens of users are reporting sync issues - there's a major bug going on and FitBit doesn't seem like they even recognize that there's a problem!

@DerrickShopefully you can fix it. I even bought my mom a tracker for Christmas, so it's important you know I am not just a freeloader!

Thanks,

Emerson

It came back online after being down for more than a day.  Try again and see if it works for you this time.  Seems that whatever glitch they had (not that they've admitted it) has worked itself out.

It's difficult to describe. It seems like it's trying to work. It synced a couple days, but won't sync previous days on which I didn't open the app. So yeah just now it synced my 500 steps to the cafe, which I validated with the health app. But it still won't sync Tuesday, for instance, whereby the health app says 11,234 steps and fitbit says zero. And Wednesday, is troubling, because the data mismatches: health shows 12,281 and fitbit says 9,094.

As mentioned, I have used mobiletrack/fitbit for several years, without issue, updating often, competing with friends, etc. I don't do well with lots of devices, I lose stuff, so I liked the integration here. I would love to keep using it.

This issue has been happening for several months but I only chose to raise it in the past few days... probably because months ago I figured it would get worked out. It hasn't. Is what it is, since I take advantage of the free service by only using an apple device. However as mentioned, I have purchased fitbit devices for others as gifts. 😞

I'm having the same issue. My Fitbit One has kicked the bucket and thought the Mobiletrack would bridge me until I get a new tracker. Sadly, my iPhone 7 Plus won't sync.

1. Yes I've rebooted the app.

2. Yes I've rebooted the iPhone.

3. Yes both my iOS and Fitbit are the latest and greatest versions.

Same issue for myself and my wife. Fitbit syncs are consistently 20-30% lower step count than my health app shows.

It appears fitbit support/moderators have abandoned this post... would be nice to at least hear they are looking into it. Sigh.

Mobiletrack uses a sensor inside your phone to monitor steps, it won’t have the same step total as your health app. If you go into the health app under “Steps” then “data and sources & access” scroll to the bottom and you’ll see your list of devices. You’ll find the mobile track steps under the iPhone icon (the name of your iPhone).
