My Fitbit is not syncing anymore.

This is my second Fitbit Charge HR. The first one works well in a year. Then battery died. Fitbit gave me this replacement. I care for it more than previous one. It works really well for 6 month and now suddenly stopped syncing.

I was trying to solve this issue in the past week, including charging, rebooting and resetting the device. It just can not be detected. I have also tried to sync it to my other devices, such as ipad air2, ipad mini and my state-of-the-art iMac. Nothing worked.

Since the "wireless" is the ONLY way to sync, the tracker is now totally useless. I hope I am the only one suffering from this issue, but two Fitbit trackers dying continuously in 18 month definitely surprised me.

Stopped syncing again.

This tracker is totally useless without synchronizing. It can not even be treated as the cheapest electronic watch on the market, as this tracker only goes about 23 hours per day, without syncing.

I feel these trackers are either horribly designed or manufactured.

And now I'm waiting for the next generation Apple watch announcement in September, and won't want to waste any more $ on these cheaply made stuff.

Sorry to be so blunt.

Same with my Fitbit one. Syncs for a few days then misses several days. I used the charge for a few years and had same issues. Switched to the one at Christmas as it was a gift. Same problems. Followed Fitbit's support removing app, restarting etc. to compound issue don't get emails when battery is low. There has to be a better way. I know a lot of users have these issues. Does anyone know of a more reliable product?

I also keep iphone/ipad current with latest updates. I don't see how it can be an IOS problem. I really believe it's a fitbit issue. Even with all day sync on, it doesn't sync.

I agree.

In my case, I tried several devices but none of them can detect Fitbit. The problem is on Fitbit side.

And I also restored it to factory settings. It does not help at all. I would believe this is NOT the software issue as well.

@RunBurn - turn bluetooth off on the other devices you tried to sync it with.  Go back to your iPhone.  Try removing your device from the app, and then add it back as a new device following these steps:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image).
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

@Baltoscott  Thanks for the advice. Switch on/off bluetooth, delete/install apps are one of the first things that I have tried. And I removed the device as well but it can NOT be found again.

@RunBurn - I can feel your frustration.  You will probably have to contact support.

Regarding the bluetooth, I don't think we are talking past each other, but just in case, you want to set up a situation where the fitbit cannot be confused by multiple bluetooth signals.  Your iPhone won't be able to find the device if the device is hung up on a bluetooth signal coming from another device like your Mac, or one of your iPads.  So turn off BT on those devices before going back to working on the link with your iPhone.

One other thought you may have already tried is to go to iPhone > settings > bluetooth and look for your device on the list.  It will probably say "not connected".  Click the blue "i" on the right and then "forget this device."  Then start over.  😉

(If you've done all that and still no connect, contact support).

@Baltoscott Again, thanks for the very detailed advice. I appreciate that!

I tried to connect it outdoor, where there isn't any bluetooth in 30 feet, ending up the same.

I have contacted customer support. Although this tracker is broken in 6 month, but the "replacement" does not come along with warranty. They offered 25% off for next purchase. But I don't want to waste another $120 on a tracker with uncertain quality.

After draining of battery in the past several days, it looks the my fitbit can sync again after charging.

It's so weird that a product behaves like this. But it's working again, at least for now.

The story after my last post is that the tracker continuously connecting and disconnecting in the past week.

I don't think it's all right and have a feeling it will stop synchronizing one day and can never come back.

Since this is a replacement of the first tracker (battery died), Fitbit told me it's not covered in the warranty.(Even though it's only 6 month of normal usage.)
