Fitbit Update 5/25/2017

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback. I can assure you the comments have been and continued to be reviewed and shared with our iOS team.

As a reminder, I'm including our help article on the Fitbit app here.

Overwhelmingly, recent posts share the sentiment of no longer being able to revert back to the original dashboard and not having the option to choose. At this time there are no plans to revert access to the old Dashboard, but we always appreciate feedback on how to improve our app.

As a reminder, Please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 8/17/2016

Beginning with version 2.26 of the Fitbit app for iOS, the new Fitbit app dashboard with an updated look is now fully implemented. You can no longer return to the old design. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers.

You can find information about the new app dashboard and how to start using it by clicking here.

Fitbit Update 5/25/2016

I'm very pleased to announce that iOS users who have updated to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App are now able to opt-in to use a preview of a new design of the Fitbit iOS dashboard!

One of my favorite features for this new dashboard preview is the quick log button in the bottom-center of the iOS App. This feature allows users to quickly: track an exercise, log food, log sleep, log water, send a friend request, scan a food barcode (if you are using the US food database), log their weight, or set an alarm.

Users can opt-in to use the new iOS dashboard design by:

1. Updating to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App, click here to be redirected to the iOS App Store.

2. Click the Account button in the bottom right-hand corner.

3. Scroll down and click the Advanced Settings button.

4. Toggle the Preview New Dashboard button at the top of the page on.

On my Fitbit "One" I was asked to chekout the new tracking Dashboard on my iPhone. I didn't know that checking it out meant I can't get the old tracking back. This new system has stopped recording my steps, floors, miles and everything else I like. The picture of the new way showed, steps, miles, floors, etc. However, it doesn't only checks, what I weight, how much food I eat & drink. What happened to everything else it promised. Just joined a challenge with friends that have rheumatoid arthritis like me. Yesterday it said I didn't have any steps. Today I'm over 11,000 steps, but no record of my steps or miles on my iPhone & your website. I'm so frustated my groups is there and their steps are being counted, but mine isn't. Help please.

Hello @scootrn2,

Please refrain from typing in all caps.  Not only is it against our community guidelines, but more importantly it detracts from folks wanting to help you.

That said, I don't believe that this has anything to do with the new dashboard on your Fitbit App.  I believe that it is due to your Fitbit not syncing recently.  To confirm my suspicions:

  1. Go to your Fitbit dashboard.
  2. On the top, next to the date.  It'll tell you the last time you synced.  When was it?

I suspect, based on your activity graph, that it was sometime on Saturday (July 2nd).  If that's the case, then either there's problem with syncing or you logged in to the wrong account on the Fitbit App.  Let's check for the 2nd issue first.  To do this:

  1. Go to your Fitbit settings page.
  2. Jot down the e-mail address for your Fitbit account.
  3. Go to the Fitbit App on your phone.
  4. Log out.
  5. Log in with the same e-mail address as step #2.

Hopefully this will get you syncing.  If it doesn't, respond and we'll help you further diagnose.

I hope this helps.

Hi, you can turn off the new dashboard preview by going to: account; advanced settings; turn off preview new dashboard.

You might also want to check the last sync your Fitbit did with your phone to make sure your data is getting through. It could be a sync glitch rather than the new dashboard preview.

I hope this works for you.

No worries in the caps. I never assume it's shouting unless the words are angry too. Glad it worked for you.

Did NOT like the new format. Seemed cluttered, and I'm totally satisfied with the current dashboard. To give additional options with each item, just hit the arrow and then display whatever. No need for the tiles that take up space with useless graphic info.

Ok, I'm game. Although, I doubt anything will come out of this - ie: HealthKit integration.

Thanks! I've posted my comment there. I urge all who prefer the list over tiles to voice their concerns in that thread also!

@scootrn2,

In that case, just magnify the contents of your browser window:

  • <Ctrl><+>: Increases
  • <Ctrl><->: Decreases
  • <Ctrl><0>: Normal

I hope this helps.

Anyone with stock in this company might want to pull out soon.  There's going to be a great backlash since Fitbit refuses to utilize the plethora of complaints and suggestions.  Fitbit's attempting to mimick the iWatch look (and feel with Fitbit Blaze) without maintaining functionality.

I fully agree. I use Fitbit Charge and had bought stock after the initial drop from issue level. Their arrogance and inability to listen to customers needs has caused me to a) sell all my stock which I had planned to hold for a considerable time and b) start reviewing other fitness trackers. I have a watch. I don't need another one. I have a phone, tablet and computer--don't need a fitness tracker that does all the things my other devices do. I NEED A FITNESS TRACKER THAT HELPS ME TRACK EXERCISE AND CALORIES....PERIOD. Time to listen to your users Fitbit...or loose them!

Thanks, but how do we get rid of the red banner 'Check out the new Fitbit Dashboard' which seems permanently fixed to the top of our App taking up space and serving no purpose !??

Oh dear. I don't know about the sync issue. How annoying when you are in a challenge. Try searching in the forum for syncing for challengers and maybe one of the other users has had the same issue and worked out an answer.
Good luck.

I found an APP 'Power Sync' that solves / patches most of the sync issues. The paid version auto syncs. I'm using the free version and manually sync once a day or so. It syncs Fitbit and Apple iHealth. I already had My Fitness Pal syncing with both.

You can try turning off all of your other bluetooth devices, or disconnecting them from the phone and then syncing. This usually helps me with my sync, but I've never had problems syncing with a challenge. Good luck!
