Fitbit Update 5/25/2017

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback. I can assure you the comments have been and continued to be reviewed and shared with our iOS team.

As a reminder, I'm including our help article on the Fitbit app here.

Overwhelmingly, recent posts share the sentiment of no longer being able to revert back to the original dashboard and not having the option to choose. At this time there are no plans to revert access to the old Dashboard, but we always appreciate feedback on how to improve our app.

As a reminder, Please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 8/17/2016

Beginning with version 2.26 of the Fitbit app for iOS, the new Fitbit app dashboard with an updated look is now fully implemented. You can no longer return to the old design. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers.

You can find information about the new app dashboard and how to start using it by clicking here.

Fitbit Update 5/25/2016

I'm very pleased to announce that iOS users who have updated to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App are now able to opt-in to use a preview of a new design of the Fitbit iOS dashboard!

One of my favorite features for this new dashboard preview is the quick log button in the bottom-center of the iOS App. This feature allows users to quickly: track an exercise, log food, log sleep, log water, send a friend request, scan a food barcode (if you are using the US food database), log their weight, or set an alarm.

Users can opt-in to use the new iOS dashboard design by:

1. Updating to version 2.23 of the Fitbit iOS App, click here to be redirected to the iOS App Store.

2. Click the Account button in the bottom right-hand corner.

3. Scroll down and click the Advanced Settings button.

4. Toggle the Preview New Dashboard button at the top of the page on.

Fitbit: would you please consider giving your users the option of the NEW or OLD dashboard?

it is clear that a number of users feel very strongly about the new dashboard.

seems like a very simple fix to allow us to use the version we like best.

you might even gain a few new customers that way, and retain some of your current users.

(this is not rocket science. this is simple customer service)

Dear Fitbit
Your 'new and improved' dashboard is in no way easier to navigate. I have an Aria and previously I could see what my weight was just by being on the dashboard page. NOW I have to go in to the tile and flick threw. I don't want to know how much weight I supposedly 'lost' as per your random point in time! I want to know how much I weigh NOW in one glance.

The fact you can't change the size of the tiles so you can put more in and not need to scroll is also ridiculous.

It's back enough that the Flex, as your most expensive model, has known problem you refuse to address but now you are changing what was a clean and functional design for a bloated and frustrating gimmick.

Please change it back.

I hate the new dashboard. Hate the look and the info is incorrect. The food and water counts do
not show up on the dashboard at all. They are correct on the food page but show zero calories eaten on the dashboard. What a mess. Please change it back.

Hi @Sunrise0892016

Merged your message previously posted on the fitbit.com dashboard section with this thread in the iOS App section regarding the new dashboard for the fitbit app.

It's rather interesting to see, that this current version of the Fitbit app, has earned an embarrassing 2.5 stars.  It's pretty obvious that there are a large number of users who dislike the new dashboard, and the ability to switch back to the list view has been removed.

I have absolutely no faith in the fact that Fitbit will see the error of their way.

Incase anyone is looking - both Amazon and Best Buy are offering the Garmin VivoSmart HR Tracker for $99.00.  🙂

Hate the new dashboard. Allow us to choose the old version.

If you truly cared about your customers you would not have forced the dreadfully useless new dashboard upon us. Goodbye Fitbit. You are now worthless to me.

Look at it this way, If all of you were new to Fitbit and never saw or used the old dashboard would you still be in an uproar about the dash on the mobile app? Our Fitbit products have been sold and Fitbit has been paid so do you really think getting rid of our Fitbits are going to hurt them? We can spread bad word of mouth but new users will go Phht, what's the problem. Change is inevitable, get used to it. As for the loss of functionality, I hate that part but will voice my opinion and vote with my wallet if nothing is done about it. Simple right?

All valid points for sure.  The piece that your missing however is that the customers they irritated with this change along with their continued ignoring of popular feature requests (ie: HealthKit) - won't be purchasing their next tracker from Fitbit when their current one dies.

Since my Charge HR is no longer covered by the warranty - the day I can no longer repair the poorly designed charging port with SuperGlue will be the day I buy my next tracker elsewhere.

Oh - not to mention the loss revenue from the "premium" dashboard features and analysis that's available on their website.  Altho, I don't know how many people actually sign up for that service - so it may not hurt their wallets too badly.

It's really a shame - as it was the app that made me decide to purchase an actual Fitbit tracker in the first place, after using it for a few weeks with just using my iPhone as the tracker.

The trackers are a commodity item these days - it's the supporting application that determines if it's a hit or a miss.

Thanks! I too hate the new dashboard...came here looking for suggestions to replace my surge!

Im thinking this is just a 'vent forum'. There is no way fitbit or their developers can see all these posts about problems with the new dashboard and just ignore it. Time to move on...nothing to see here folks.

I think the only way to make our frustrations with the new Dashboard and the lack of interest by Fitbit to listen is to give the new UI version one star rating in the App Store and tell everyone why. The Fitbit App has 2 rating buttons. One is for rating the current version (that's the one we hate) the other button is to rate the previous version ( the original UI) The new version has mostly 1 star reviews already but needs more! There is a new Charge HR and a new Flex coming in November and most people look at the App ratings before they buy. One star reviews will get Fitbit's attention.

Thanks, Ted

Exactly! I did that this morning...thanks for the suggestion tho. Hoping
all affected speak out. I am still shocked that despite all the negative
comments they don't care. When I've reported the issues by email, they
keep saying how important the feedback is. Right...
