New FitBit App Update for iPhone: Calories Remaining Estimate?

I updated the Fitbit app on my iPhone 14 ProMax today, and noticed there is now only one number for the calories remaining. Previously, the number on the calories tile estimated the amount of calories left for the day which included the projected amount of calorie expenditure one would accrue by the end of the day. After today's update, it appears that the only estimate for calories remaining is the one which does not include this projection. Is there a setting where I can change this, or will there be an additional update that will bring back this feature? Knowing what calories I have remaining is really only useful to me if it gives me an idea of where I will be at the end of the day. Otherwise, I'll have to resort to using my iPad with the previous version as long as I'm able to keep automatic updates from occurring.

Just to note, I do see that there is an illustration that presumably reflects whether you will be over, under or at your calorie goal. However, I am only interested in seeing the exact number of calories, as before.

The app update, in my opinion, was a total mess. This calories estimate in the front screen used to be an excellent support for your daily diet!

Totally agree! It was so simple. Enter weight target, present weight, and how fast to lose to target weight, and you are reported how many calories available during the day to be successful. This

I agree!  There is A LOT to hate about the new app, but this is a standout issue. If it’s not added back in I’m not sure I’ll stay with Fitbit. It was a big selling feature for me because it’s so helpful when you’re working on staying in a deficit.

I was so hopeful the new update (Nov. 14) would include putting back the ability to see remaining calories for the day. For anyone who relies on this feature, I'll share the workaround I just implemented. Since the remaining calories metric is visible on the website dashboard, I logged in to my account on the web browser on my phone and saved the web tab to my home screen. I also tweaked the layout (on desktop) to put the calories tile top left so it's the first thing visible when I hit the tab on my phone. So disappointing that in this age of technology Google would remove this highly useful feature from the app and force us to have two Fitbit icons on our phones just to manage our account.
