Welcome to the community!
The newer Fitbit trackers form a bond with the smartphone; this is how notifications work. If you're having trouble finding your tracker, this probably means that your older iPhone 4s is interfering with the communication. Try this:

I had to do it a few times but then it did find my Alta. But I ran into another problem its not accurate. I think its the app. I can sign onto the computer and it accurate.
