Hi there @Steeleflower, welcome aboard to our Community. When you receive a notification, your tracker vibrates to let you know as a normal behavior but its odd you are not receiving the message.

Some possible causes of this issue are:

  • If your mobile device has a text conversation open, you won't receive notifications from that conversation.
  • If you miss notifications occasionally, it may be because your tracker was syncing at the same time the notification arrived.
  • The Bluetooth connection between your tracker and your mobile device may be unstable.

If the issue persist, please try to restart your Alta:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clasp the other end of the cable to the port on the back of your Alta. Alta will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable three times within eight seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer.
  4. Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means Alta is restarting.
  5. After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Once your tracker has been restarted, please do the following:

  1. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  3. Reboot your mobile device.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need more help.

Hi @Steeleflower and welcome to the boards! Sorry you are having this problem. You have an iPhone, right? I would suggest the following:

 1. Power down your phone. Give it a minute, then power it back up.

 2. Restart your Fitbit. Instructions are here

 3. Then test it by asking someone nearby to send you a text message. Or have them call you. Make sure the caller's name is in your contact list.

If this does not correct the problem, then contact Support.

Hope this helps!
