Notifications in the iPhone app

In the app on my iPhone the Notifications page is always blank saying "no notifications". What's supposed to be there? 

 

Notifications do show up on my Fitbit. But if I don't happened to look down the message is gone. I'm wondering if they should show up on this page in my app

Notifications usually involve reminders about your daily goal or messages, cheers and taunts leave to you by any of your friends:

These are not related to the notifications showing up in the lock screen of your phone and if you're not able to see them, please log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in, then keep an eye for them to appear in this tab.
