@MaireRaven   Some users trace this to an iOS update that seems to have turned on the badge notifications.  First, tap on your inbox in the upper right and see if you have old messages and notifications that need to be deleted.  A few users said they had a badge, but no messages or notifications.  If you don't want to see them at all, tap on your iPhone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit > toggle badges to Off.

I think, but can't prove, that this is from an iOS update.  Badge notifications were turned on in all my apps that get notifications after I got iOS 14.5.1.  I use the FedEx Delivery Manager app a lot.  Even it was toggled to on -- I never got a badge notification from that app before!
