Number showing on Fitbit app on iPhone

I have a number 1 in a red circle on the  Fitbit app on my iPhone. I have checked for messages ( none) notifications ( all read) and updates in the App Store. I’ve also deleted the app and reinstalled it but still can’t get rid of this number 1. What does it refer to? Would be grateful for advice. Thanks!

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling and recommend doing the following: 

1. Log out of the app.
2. Force quit the app.
3. Restart your iPhone.
4. Log into the Fitbit app and check if the issue persists.
