I know that many will recommend resetting your device a minimum of three times in a row and I would also recommend that if the following doesn't work for you.

"Force quit" the app. To do that, double-click the home button and swipe up on the Fitbit app to remove it from memory. Then single-click the home button and restart the app.

That has worked for me in the past.

If it doesn't work for you, reset the device:

  1. plug the charging cable into a usb port.
  2. connect the device to the charging cable, making sure the battery icon is displayed with a cross-hatch pattern
  3. press on the reset button on the usb connector three times within four seconds with a definite pause between presses. The Fitbit logo will display. It is possible that it will go "all of the way down" to the sequence that shows a lot more information about the device before it will come back to what you are used to seeing.
  4. after performing step three three times, disconnect the device from the charging cable and attempt to sync.

Good luck, and welcome to the boards.
