While I've read many requests to have the landscape mode available for the iPad, and good for you for finally doing this, I don't think that meant to omit the ability to have portrait mode. Portrait mode is a whole lot easier on these old eyes. If you goal is better health for all, I don't think eye strain fits the bill. Changing how I hold my iPad doesn't get me into Portrait mode, either. This is a recent doing on your part. Please fix... and please don't take 7 years to do it... like it took from the first request for landscape mode.

Hello CallMeNoName. I too prefer iPad portrait mode on my old eyes as well. I’ve noticed that keeping my screen locked will prevent my iPad from changing from portrait mode to landscape mode. Viewing the Fitbit app in portrait mode certainly makes the screen easier on the eyes. To lock your iPad screen hold your iPad in portrait mode then just swipe your finger down the top right corner of your screen. Look for an icon that appears to be a lock. Tap that lock till it’s red in color. Doing so will then lock your screen in place and keep your Fitbit App in portrait mode. (Even in portrait mode you can minimize the app by tapping the two connecting arrows located on the bottom right corner of your screen while viewing the Fitbit app)
😃 Hopefully this helps….Happy Stepping!
