Fitbit should integrate WhatsApp, notifications do not really work well from my experience. I even returned a Fitbit produce for its lack of integrations. Integration is a smoother and simpler process for the end user, however notifications are easier to code and makes like easier for the Fitbit developer as they don't really need to do much so its the cheap way out.

I don't know if it is work or not with fitbit and WhatsApp but I think you have to use twilio integration with WhatsApp and fitbit via WhatsApp API's...

 

or you can also use this gb whatsapp which is a open source application...
