I am about to move to a Google Account on the Fitbit App on my iphone. I am going to be using a different e-mail than the one I have been currently using. Two questions:
1) Do I have to change the password for the Fitbit Account or can I continue to use my current Fitbit password?
2) After updating to the new e-mail when I login to this site do I have to change the e-mail address I have been using - or is that automatically updated when I move the account - and I just login with the new email address using the old password I have been using prior to the move?
Thanks

Hello @dwin, nice to see you around!
Let me tell you that you have two excellent questions that I'll be happy to answer:
In this case, you have two options: you can either use an existing email address or create a whole new account. In both cases, you can choose which password you will be using to log in.
Once you have migrated to Google, the system will automatically recognize that you aren't using the previous credentials anymore. When you come back to the Community, you must use your new credentials to log in.

One more question - just be sure - the current password I am using to login will still be the same - just the e-mail address will be different? Or do I have to use the password associated with the existing gmail account login I am going to be using now.
Thanks much - and for the very quick reply!
FYI will likely be purchasing a new Fitbit once I am transferred over.
Best,
David

Was able to switch and login with no problem. May have some questions about downloading historical data. One question about devices - which ones have an Altimeter in them (working through which one I want to purchase. Thanks

@dwin of the current devices, Sense 2 and Versa 4 have an altimeter. Google has confirmed that new Fitbit hardware will be released this year. I don't know whether that will include an altimeter.

You are very welcome @dwin, I'm truly happy my answers were useful for you.
In regards to the first question, there is an easy way to get all the data downloaded. Since now you sign in with your Google Account you need to follow these instructions to download your data, please see the Google Accounts help article.
So, which Fitbit best fits your specific needs? Since you are looking for something that can track elevation, you are probably looking for one of our Fitbit watches. These include the Fitbit Versa 4 or Fitbit Sense 2. Those are certainly the types of devices a highly active person would choose.
