Re: Not getting notifications on Fitbit

This is the same problem I have that no one can fix and that the fit bit team doesn’t care about. I am actually now looking into an Apple Watch. At least they stand behind their products.

Hi I had this problem. This is what I have done

Forget device on Bluetooth
Remove the fitbit from the app
Search for your fitbit
Go through the motions when it finds your one
Make sure all day sync is switched on
It will then pair with your phone
Make sure notifications are in on fitbit.

Good luck

No, the people from Fitbit I have spoken to have said they are working on it but it’s been something they have been working on for months. Not sure if they can fix it.

Everyone I talk to can’t answer that question. Mine has finally started notifying me of phone calls but it’s taken months to do that.

I am looking into an Apple Watch now. I love my Fitbit but I don’t appreciate that this is my second one that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to and Fitbit can’t/won’t fix it.

i wish you luck, I hope you have more luck than I have.

@SunsetRunner iOS has made some changes recently to their notifications, without informing 3rd parties like Garmin and Fitbit. Both companies where caught of guard with these iOS changes, and they are working at figuring out what apple has done to encourage their users to come fully to apple

Yes you could buy an AW, which is exactly what apple wants their users to do, and why they made these changes.

Or you can let Apple know that your tired of Apples underhanded practices and move to the open Android system. Your call, stick with the company everyone loves to hate or...

Rich_Laue I am not upset at the fact that another company did something that Fitbit doesn’t have control over. I am upset over the complete lack of customer service, the bad attitude and the inability to back a product you have made. This is my second Fitbit and my second experience with this companies inability to back their product and their shortcomings. I do appreciate what your saying but I am sick of terrible customer service, I haven’t been treated badly by Apple.

As you may know, I am a bit of a FitBit fan (see my scores to the left), and while I am aware of iOS 13's issues with bluetooth connectivity, by looking at the Versa 2 board, it also appears that there may be some issues with notifications when Android devices are in play.

As far as people moving over to the AW, I actually looked into that when my Charge 3 went "white screen" on me. I would have to download nearly a dozen separate apps to get the functionality the one FitBit app gives me. And if I wanted to extend the functionality of my Versa 2 beyond what I current use, another app, then another app, then...

I selected the Versa 2.

Am I disappointed that I am not receiving text and incoming call notifications and have experienced occasional syncing issues? A resounding "YES". Is it a show-stopper? NO.

A moderator referred one of my posts to support and they have been communicating with me. Are they presenting a confident attitude regarding a fix=? Not really. But they have owned up to being aware of the issue, apologized for any inconvenience it has caused and are working on it.

Posts seem to suggest that there is a notification issue with Android 10 @MrMarv

I know people that have had no issues with apple, but then they have no issues with apple products. I also know many that have not had any issues with Fitbit.

Yes I did go through a 4 month period in 2018 with sync issues, rolling back the app version took care of this.

I have been seeing a lot of "simple" fixes to the notifications and syncing issue. I've tried them all, or so it seems.

Numerous emails with support after I was referred to them by a moderator after documenting all I had tried and what the symptoms were.

I'll patiently wait for the Bluetooth pairing problem to be resolved. Nearly 40 years as an application developer and "many other things IT", so I've been there, understand it and literally have the T-shirt (with nearly 50 signatures on it as one retirement gift).

Good to see you still on the boards.
