@nflnsue If you are referring to your Fitbit icon on your phone's home screen, that is a badge notification. A little while ago an iOS update turned this notification on for some users. Many users said a number appeared when they had no notifications. Please try the following:
Laurie | Maryland
Sense 2, Luxe, Aria 2 | iOS | Mac OS
Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.

Hi there, @nflnsue.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I understand your point of view and to look into this, do you recall since when this started to happen? May I know the model and OS version of your phone?
In the meantime, I'd recommend the following steps:
Hope this helps.

Hi. I’ve had this for some time. Just followed your recipe and it worked - thanks.
However, I do have a question. What will happen now if the Fitbit all genuinely has a notification for me. It seems that with badges switched off, I’ll need to react fairly promptly to an alert from the app. If I happen to lose that alert (eg if I’m over enthusiastic on clearing down alerts), there won’t be anything to tell me I have an outstanding alert / notification.
In other apps, if I clear down the alerts, the app’s badge tells me I still have something to action. And when I do launch the app in question, once I’ve dealt with the notification, the app badge goes.
So, switching off badges in the notification settings for Fitbit is an excellent circumvention. But, there’s still a bug in the app.
