Remaining calories discrepancy between iOS app and web-page

I've attached a screenshot from my iOS app and also from my web-based activity page. Taken at the same time, both sync'd. I'm wondering why the remaining calories differ by 200? Any help appreciated.\

Do you have a weight loss plan deficit of 250 calories? That would account for the delta of 219 - and it is rarely exactly 250 as there is still some estimating going on.

Hello @SunsetRunner, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, sometimes it's possible the app will not update the information stored in our servers correctly, said information will be shown correctly in the online Dashboard. When this happens please try the following:

  • Force-close the app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swipe up the app, then open the app again. If this doesn't seem to work:
  • Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Hi Marco

Thanks for the reply. I've done all you said to do, and I note that the figure from the dashboard is very close to that on the app. However, the figure in the food plan is still 200+ calories different. For those who log calories, this is where you go, rather than the dashboard, so I'd like to see if all the numbers can match up!

Regards

Phil

Hi Marv

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I do indeed have a 250 deficit plan. I was assuming this would be carried across devices, but obviously not. Good to know!

By the way, I'm a linguist. I'm curious about your use of the word "delta", which I haven't seen used that way before (I'm also Australian 🙂 )

Comes from the mathematic term that I believe means the increment of a variable. I first heard it used as "delta change". That has also morphed into "change between the expected and the actual" or just "the difference between two measurements".

Or at least that is how I have perceived the use in the approximate 50 years since I first heard the word. As a application developer keying mainly on Manufacturing and ERP systems for over 30 years, when I say "delta" virtually everyone, from Business Analysts to other programmers, members of finance departments and even CEOs understand the context in which the word is being used.

Of course, that is in the "States", not in Australia, the UK or France. Although I occaisionaly work with a French lady who has no problems understanding; though that could be because us "Yanks" have corrupted her.

Ah, thanks. That is a great explanation. I haven’t found any colleagues other than one who worked in the States for some time who has heard of the word.

Nice to learn from others on a Fitness smart watch forum 😉
