Search for on iPhone using voiceover screen reader tiles re-ordering randomly

Using a charge for on my iPhone with voiceover as my screen reader. Tiles on the app home screen reverse order for no apparent reason and later returned back to the original order. My home screen is set up so that the first tile is distance next steps next calories next floors next zone minutes. Details change order to distance no change than zone minutes then floors then calories and finally steps.

this is not a new situation but something that has been going on for a long time. I have deleted and reinstalled the software and done everything that customer service has suggested as part of fixing issues with the Fitbit and the app. I am guessing there must be some sort of a glitch or a bug in this.

The issue I have with the tiles reversing still continues. I still would like to know why this happens. Any ideas?  Is there a Fitbit moderator who might be able to respond to my inquiry? I have not yet received an answer from the Fitbit community or customer service.

Hello @Podunk

This sometimes happens to me as well. There is no rhyme or reason for it. I have friends on the Fitbit App that I participate in challenges with and they too have complained about the tiles randomly rearranging themselves.

Thankfully it’s not an everyday occurrence but when it does happen it’s frustrating when you have to rearrange them the way you prefer them. Why it happens I honestly don’t know and there doesn’t seem to be many that complain about it so I’m not sure it’s going to be addressed in some future update either.

But, with that said it is certainly more frustrating for you then others I’m sure. When this rearranging of tiles occurs I can use the edit button feature that allows me to just rearrange them back where I want them. I know from conversations with you before that your edit button feature does work with your VoiceOver program. So this forces you to uninstall then reinstall as you have tried in the past to fix the problem.

Again, this comes down to your edit button not being addressed! Very frustrating. I understand that the edit button has nothing to do with the tiles sporadically getting rearranged but the edit button definitely comes in handy when it does.

I understand my response doesn’t address the reason behind why the tiles sporadically rearrange but to let you know your not alone in this frustration. Uninstalling then reinstalling the Fitbit app will not solve the issue either so I wouldn’t waste anymore time doing that if the issue occurs again. The real issue is the lack of response to your edit button feature not working!

I realize my post doesn’t resolve the problem but it’s the best answer I can offer at this time. Unfortunately it’s that dang Edit button again….

It’s stated that the Google Disability Support team is available to answer questions about your Fitbit device by phone, chat, email, the Be My Eyes app, and video with ALS specialists. For more information on how to contact the Google Disability Support team, see support.google.com.

Have you reached out to them to discuss your edit button issues??

Thank you megabyte,

It appears the problem is not unique to the iOS platform but also happens on the android. Or a cynical person I might say that the user usability issues come second dairy to the data provided by the users that is marketed towards researchers using Data collected by Fitbit.

I can only hope your edit button gets resolved @Podunk as I think doing so will help you navigate through the Fitbit App in a more seamless way.

I spoke with someone from the Google accessibility support team and explained my situation. I provided them with examples and was told that I should hear back from them in less than one week. It has been considerably more time and I have yet to get a response from the Google accessibility support team by way of email as they hadAssured me I would get.

Gosh @Podunk I’m sorry they haven’t gotten back to you. Have you considered reaching back up with them to follow up? Doing so will bring up the attention to the situation again and might offer you some insight into what the holdup is.

Thank you megabyte, I tried getting a response from Google as stated above with no results. Now I’m trying to get a response from Google by mentioning them in the Fitbit community. I’m hoping that someone from Fitbit or Google monitors community conversations and will get back to me.

Hello again @Podunk

I’ve tagged a moderator to try and assist you. The functionality of the voiceover issue is beyond my control so maybe a moderator can address this issue with better expertise. Hopefully this will give your concerns better exposure.

Thank you megabyte, as always you seem to come through with assistance. I will let you know if and when I hear from someone and what the outcome is as a result. Thank you again.

, I promise update and here it is the tile still reverse multiple times during the day. I have not heard from a Fitbit moderator. I have not heard from googles accessibility support team. The edit button is still not available to me because I use the Apple voiceover application as a screen reader.

I have submitted a feature suggestion requesting the new versions and updates to the Fitbit software be reviewed by the developers for ease of use of people with disabilities. I am happy to say that I have gotten a number of people voting
