Update: 12/22/2017: We released a new version of the app today which should resolve this issue. Please update your app. Thanks for your reports and patience.
We received reports that an increased amount of users see Error 403 when attempting to set up or sync their device. If basic troubleshoots do not work (force quit app, restart tracker, restart device) users have reported uninstalling and reinstalling the app helps resolve the issue.
Thanks very much for your reports as we work on a resolution.

I got a new phone today and I’ve been trying to sync my Fitbit to it, all day. I’ve left it on the charger, I’ve disconnected and reconnected to my Bluetooth, and still nothing. What can I do to fix this because I’m getting pretty annoyed at this point.

Have you checked that your new phone is supported by fitbit at www.fitbit.com/devices ?
Do you still have your old phone? If so, it might still have a bluetooth connection that's blocking connection from your new phone. If it shows in the bluetooth connections then delete it and try again.
We did a factory reset on my old phone so there is no apps or anything on it. And my phone does work with fitbit. I’m gonna try connecting it again today and see if it works.
Best AnswerI have the Charge 2 and had this issue when getting a new iPhone yesterday. I had to delete the app from my iPhone, then I made sure that my Charge 2 was still listed correctly from my FitBit dashboard online, and then I re-added the app to my iPhone. All is good now.
I am trying to connect my existing Charge 2 to a new iphone 8, which has a different apple ID and different phone number from my old phone (changed jobs and phone). My new phone sees the fitbit on bluetooth, but when I enter the 4 digit code from, the fitbit to my phone I get this message on my phone
The operation couldn't be completed
(com.fitbit.http error 403)
Suggestions?
I was having this same issue. I finally just deleted the app on my phone and re-downloaded it and everything synced up perfectly as if I never had an issue at all. Hope that works for you, too!
Same here... New iPhone 8 although I’m on the same number and iTunes ID..... I’ve emailed Fitbit and I’m waiting for a reply! Hope they sort it out soon
Best AnswerI’ve had to replace my iPhone 7 due to a smash screen and now I can’t sync my blaze.
I keep getting error messsge 403. I’ve shut the watch down, turned my phone off, rebooted my phone, updated my phone, turned off Bluetooth etc.
Any ideas?
I’ve just added the Fitbit app to my iPad and my charge 2 has connected to that fine. It’s obviously an issue with the iPhone 8 or the most recent iOS update as I’ve not update my iPad yet. 🤔

Best AnswerI’ve emailed fit bit. Will see the response. My Bluetooth works on my ear pods so I know it’s not the phone.
Hey @DerrickS!
Suggest to users what @nikthejayhawk Said.
Delete the fitbit app and Re-Download it, I did it and it worked!
Thank you!

Best AnswerMy wife has changed her phone from iPhone 4 to a 6 and the Alta has stopped syncing, getting the 403 code, anyone solved the issue yet? I note it's being questioned back in 2015
