Having followed this for some time, I think these suggestions for improving sleep recordings are basically BS. This is my second Charge 3. Bought originally because I though sleep function would work better than on less-expensive Fitbit Flex.
It doesn't matter if the battery is fully charged, how tight it is, which hand I put it on, whether I reset/restart, or how sensitve it is set, THIS FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, and it never has, at least for me. At some point I may try to call tech service, but who has time for that? This is so annoying. Much work to be done on this feature!

I’m on my 3rd device (currently a brand new Sense2) and I still experience split sleep data. I have a resting heart rate of 47 and it seems that when I see my heart rate hit 42 at night it stops recording? Can a low nightly heart rate affect sleep data recording?

I completely agree! I have had this issue with every fitbit I have bought since my first charge in 2015. I have given up on reporting the problem, I am seriously considering moving to another brand at this stage.

I never had a problem before but for the past week I've struggled with insomnia. I'm up for an hour or two and my Charge 4 tracker only gives me a score for the first segment. I would love there to be an option to put them all together. It is set to Normal, not Sensitive. It doesn't matter which wrist it's on. There simply needs to be some code added to the software so that if two separate sleep segments are logged within a 'night' they are added together. And a 'night' should be obvious because my tracker tells me I'm supposed to be sleeping between 11:00 and 7:00. If I wake to go to the bathroom it has no issue, why are some 'chunks' of time separated while others are not?
