Sleep stage history disappeared from iOS app

I used to have my full sleep stage history since I got the Fitbit watch and IOS app in 2017. Now I can only see two weeks. I was having sync issue and removed and re-installed the app and am hoping there is a way of reinstating four years history.

I can still see it all in the online version so I know it is still there. I can also see my three year heart rate history on the app so again it does appear to be a syncing issue for the sleep stages.

Hi @RG2021. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, as well as checking your online dashboard prior to posting. I understand your point of view and to investigate what may be occurring, may I know the model of your phone? Also, do you recall if this happened after updating the Fitbit app?

If you haven't done so, please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  4. Pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Tap the sleep tile and check details one more time.

Hi @LizzyFitbit

Thank you for your reply. I am using the Fitbit app on an iPad Air 2 running iPadOS 15.1.

I have had a Fitbit Charge 4 for about a year but recently I was having trouble connecting the watch to the app and synching and I deleted and re-installed the app on the iPad.

I also rebooted the watch and all was fine apart from the sleep history which now only goes back to 5th November 2021. The history on my laptop goes back to 11th July 2017 when I first got my previous watch (iPad Charge 2).

The app was last updated 2 weeks ago to version 3.5.1. but I do not recall if this was when the sleep history before 5th November disappeared.

I have tried your 5 stage suggestion but it has not changed anything.

Ideally, I would like to find a way to synchronise the sleep history visible online on my Windows 10 laptop onto my iPad Fitbit app.

Many thanks for your help.

I have just looked at my Fitbit app and my sleep record has lost another week. It now only goes back to 12th November whereas yesterday it went back to 5th November.

Hey RG2021 -

Just synced my new Luxe to my phone.  My sleep data is there for who-knows how far back.  The most current date of sleep data is 9/23/21 the day AltaHR gave up the ghost.  I have not yet updated the Fitbit app - sounds like I should avoid updating.  😉  Thanks for the heads up!

Anyway, I hope this helps you access your older info.

It seems like losing the 3rd week back is a "feature" of the updated app.  Without that nugget of info, I wondered if it was related to the reinstall.  But dropping the 3rd week isn't.

P.S.  Wish I could tell you what version I am running.  I don't know where to find it in 14.6; didn't find in the app nor in settings.  (Maybe hanging on to 14.6 tells you a little about my skepticism regarding app updates.  Consequence of computering in the '80s.)

Hi there, @RG2021@No1 Welcome on board.

@RG2021 Thanks for getting back with the requested information, and for your efforts while working on this situation. I'm sorry this continues happening and just to make sure, could you double check if you're logged into the same account on both the Fitbit app and your online dashboard? Follow the steps described here to verify the email address associated with your account.

Additionally, please take a screenshot of what is displayed in the Fitbit app and attack it to your reply. These details will help me to further investigate on my end.

@No1 Thanks for sharing your insights about this matter. In regards to your question, open the Fitbit app, tap your profile icon, scroll down, tap Help & Support and in there you'll find the Fitbit app version.
