Sleep summary shows wrong time zone on the Fitbit app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Charge 4 (and Charge 3), both on iOS, app convert sleep times to UTC time for the home-page dashboard. The times are correct on the data page.

Example here shows that my 2331h bed time (UTC-7) is displayed on the dashboard as 1631h UTC).

is there any way to change this?

Hi there @plainblack

Thanks for the details shared on your post and for the screenshot provided.

It's odd that your sleep log doesn't show the right time zone. If the Fitbit app and your Fitbit device are updated to the latest version, I'd recommend to verify if the time zone set, is correct on the Fitbit app:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on your profile picture.
  2. Tap App settings
  3. Under Time Zone, turn off the Set Automatically option.
  4. Tap "Time Zone" and select the correct time zone.
  5. Tap on location just to double check that your location is correct.
  6. Sync your Fitbit device to apply the changes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve tried them all and the problem continues.

Thanks for your reply and for troubleshooting this issue @plainblack

If the issue persists, let's try to do the following:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app. For instructions see the Apple help article.
  3. Clear your iPhone cache: How to Clear Your Browser's Cache on an iPhone.
  4. Reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.

See you around.

I’ve done that, too (and erased a pile of saved Safari tabs, darnit).

I followed all the steps again. What’s weird is that I can’t get the time zone selection in App settings to stay on America/Whitehorse (MST). I choose it, get the little blue tick mark. When I go back, I see the time zone momentarily and then UTC slips back into place.

We have Yukon Time — and my phone is using it. Might that be the problem? Do the times for the actual activities — which are correct — come from the Fitbit?

@plainblack I had the same issue. I fixed mine by going to App Settings > Location and turning off automatic location identification, and setting my country manually. Then going to App Settings > Time Zone and Turing off Set Automatically and selecting my time zone manually. The Country you pick must match the time zone location you pick too -- if you set your country to Canada, you have to pick a city in your time zone listed as being in Canada too. That fixed mine.
