Has anyone else had an issue with really slow syncing since the latest Fitbit update and/or the iOS 11 update? They both updated on the same day, so I’m not sure which update is causing the issue. It, now, takes 10-15 minutes for my Charge hr to sync. I’ve only had my Fitbit for about 3 weeks and it was working fine before the 2 updates. By the way, I’m syncing with my iPhone 7 only - I haven’t been able to get the app to work on my iPad.

Hello @TraciS, I hope you're doing fine, it's nice to see you around.
Have you restarted your phone and your Charge HR lately? If so, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between your tracker and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account will be deleted.
To set up your tracker as a new device:
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thank you @MarcoGFitbit, I just went, step by step, through your instructions. It is still syncing very slowly, it may be a little faster, but, still slower than it used to be before the ios11 update.

Hello @TraciS, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.
If your tracker is still syncing slow, my best recommendation would be enabling All-Day Sync to improve the connection between your tracker and your phone. To enable All-Day Sync go to the Fitbit app > Account > Charge HR and scroll down until you see the option.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, give it a try and keep me posted!

Thank you, @MarcoGFitbit, for giving me an answer. Whatever bugs the new iOS update created, seem to be working itself out. Syncing is going a little faster, now. Still not as fast as before the update, but, much faster than it was just after there the update. I’ll keep the all day sync in mind, hopefully, it doesn’t come to that because that really drains my Fitbit battery. Thanks again!

I was able to just “forget device” for my Alta and restart my phone to get the sync back to a fairly normal speed rather than also re-adding my Alta in the app.

I’ve had same problem since IOS 11 update. I’ve contacted help and basically all I get is they have no reports of this issue. I’ve had my Fitbit for over two years and this is first time I’ve had syncing issue. It takes 10-15 min most times to sync instead of usual 2 min or less and is really getting irritating.

Since the last couple of iOS updates, the issue has gotten better. Actually, when the Fitbit starts to sync, it (the sync progress bar) goes so far and just stops. When it gets to this point, I close the app and reopen it, then it completely syncs in about less than a minute.

Hello @TraciS, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. It's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community @Mogmummy and @lrmaloy.
@TraciS, thanks for sharing the steps you've tried in order to resolve this issue, force-closing the app is a great idea in case you haven't closed the app in a very long time.
@Mogmummy and @lrmaloy, please try force-closing the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app. Additionally, restart the Bluetooth on your phone by going to Settings > Bluetooth, Turn it off for 15 seconds, then turn it back on. Please keep in mind that if Bluetooth is only turned off from the Control Center it will not restart completely.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I am having the same issue with my fit bit. I have tried to enable all day sync. The app automatically turns it off and prompts me to turn on blue tooth. I have forced quit, restarted my phone, and restarted Fitbit Alta. It’s very frustrating.

Force quitting the Fitbit app and restarting a sync helps. Force quitting is sometimes necessary as since the iOS 11 update sync can hang for hours. Obviously there is some incompatibility between Fitbit and iOS 11. Please Fitbit programmers look into the glitch - thanks.

Thank you- that did help for one sync. It is back to taking longer than 5 minutes. I am also trying to turn phone call notifications on and every time I go to turn it on, it kicks me off blue tooth and tells me blue tooth needs to be activated. Nothing is working recently with FitBit and it is very frustrating. I have been a FitBiter for about 4 years now and used to be very happy with the company, but not so much anymore. This has not just been since the update.

My fitbit charge 3 started acting up. The app starting taking longer to sync. I tried just about everything short of resetting my phone to factory. Then one day I stumbled on to a post that said just log out and log in again. It worked like a charm. Hope it works for you.
