Step Count not accurate

Hey - I just found out that Fitbit isn't counting logged steps towards the 7 day total - how annoying. Maybe there are cheaters in the world but there seems like plenty of pros to allowing logged steps to count and the only con is that cheaters might take advantage of the system. Doesn't seem fair.
What do you suggest I do in this situation: I run 3 miles on the treadmill but my Fitbit logs it as only 2.5. Often my Fitbit count is off. I like to go in and manually log that run so I have a more accurate total. What can I do in that instance?
Also, the Fitbit dies unexpectedly and I like to log those steps too. I guess those are forever gone from our 7 day total? Doesn't really make sense. Fitbit should have asked the consumers using the product before making a change like this.

Welcome to the forums @AshMar2828! You are correct, manual logs do not count towards your 7 day total nor challenges. If you're running on the treadmill I recommend to check your stride length settings as well as the dominant vs non dominant hand settings. Also, make sure your hands are in constant motion while on the treadmill, since holding on to the rail will not detect your step movement.

Now, you've also mentioned that your Flex is "dying out", is this caused by a battery drain or by using it regularly and getting a low battery? If your Flex is unresponsive at times or the battery is draining, please follow the steps in this guide, including cleaning your tracker's contacts (here), trying other USB ports and restarting your tracker (here).

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions Cat Very Happy
