Steps counted while sleeping

Hi all,

I have noticed my fitbit (Inspire 2) counted more than 12,000 steps while sleeping. If I understood correctly, there is no way to edit Steps and Floors. I have tried to offset this with a session of yoga in that same time frame (see screenshot) and this should do the trick? How, if those steps are still there? I saw some were suggesting to add Driving activity, but I have no Driving activity I can choose from my activities. Could you please help to make me understand how to offset such things?

A warm welcome to the forums @l3l8.

Thank you for taking the time to share this information about steps on your app.

In order to delete steps on your dashboard, please follow these points:

  1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the Log tab > Activities.
  2. Under Log Activities, choose Driving as the exercise type. (I found it on the lower right side). Make sure the exercise details overlap with the time period your device logged the unwanted steps or floors.
  3. Click Log. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

To avoid an over counting of steps, I'd suggest you to check if you have MobileTrack installed on the Fitbit. This feature allows you to record basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors. That being said, if there was a fan or something vibrating nearby, that might be the reason why you receive an incorrect amount of steps.

Assuming this is correct, I'd recommend removing it by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the upper left side (device and phone icon).
  2. Tap Mobile:
For iOS devices, scroll down and tap the option to remove the device.
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
